Jerome Hamilton Obituary

Jerome Hamilton went home to the Lord April 14, 2014 at the age of 77.
He was born March 14, 1937 to Dora Mae and Henry Hamilton Sr.
Jerome was a native of Florida, raised on Lost Man River until the age of 12, then he moved to Bonita Springs until going into the service for two years as a cook. He was honorably discharged.
He loved going to church. He was a member of the Wind of Spirit Congregation Church in Old Town. Jerome read his Bible daily. His favorite verse was Isaiah 40:31" "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Jerome was a loving husband to Barbara Hamilton for 56 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, camping with his brothers, hook and line fishing, water and blue crabbing in Horseshoe Beach. He loved rebuilding boats and making them new, his truck, birds, flowers and trees. He truly cared about his family and friends and enjoyed them.
Jerome is survived by his wife; daughter, Barbara Lou McBride of Arkansas; granddaughter, Bridget Donya Akins of Texas; brother, Robert (Nancy) Hamilton of Old Town; brother-in-law, Percy Millner Jr. of Virginia and nieces and nephews.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Hamilton Jr. and George Hamilton; sisters, Louise Daniels, Mary Clark and Carol Arnold.
Services will be 2 p.m. April 27 at Wind of the Spirit Congregational Church in Old Town, followed by fellowship at 155 NE 200th Ave., Old Town.
