Britton Ballard Obituary

Britton Roth Ballard, 15, of Inverness, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Inverness at Citrus Memorial hospital on Oct. 18, 1995, Britton was a student at Citrus High School. He was an avid Florida Gators fan; played soccer since the age of four; loved video games, roller coasters and, in his young life, was an aspiring construction engineer, demonstrating this talent in today's intricate world of Legos. He also very much loved his Irish roots and he carried his faith in the Church of God.
Britton is survived by his mother, Gina Ballard-Kuznar, with stepfather, Steve, of Inverness; father, Kevin Ballard, with stepmother, Ruth, also of Inverness; maternal grandparents, Robert C. and Tressie Massengill, of Wilmington, North Carolina; paternal grandparents, Theodore Vernon, and Beverly Ballard, of Merritt Island, FL; stepsisters, Meredith Kuznar, of Fayetteville, NC, Meriah Perry and Tammy Brooks (James), both of Inverness, Cybil Linhart (Danny), of Floral City; stepbrother, Joshua Perry (Tina), of The Villages; uncle, James Ballard (Jennifer), of Alaska; uncle, Darrell Massengill (Sonya), of Cary, NC; aunt, Sheila Baker (Jeff), of Washington, D.C.; aunt, Kimberly Hettinger (Brian), of Merritt Island; and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. at the Calvary Chapel Church in Inverness, 960 South U.S. Hwy. 41, Inverness. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Inverness. Friends will be received, at Calvary Chapel, from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, in charge of arrangements. www.ferofuneralhome.com.

Britton was a brave young angel sent to give you 15 years of joy. He has left his mark on the world which will never be the same. Gina, he is with you every day. Take time for you now. He would want that. Love you and praying for you every day.

I remember when Britton was brought to College Park not too long after he was born, and watching him grow as he came to visit. Sister Beverly and Pastor were very proud of their grandson, as I know they are proud of the young man he became. He touched many lives in his short time here. May the Lord God bring you peace and comfort in knowing that Britton is now with his Lord and Savior and is pain free. God Bless

At the Massengill-Howell Reunion in North Carolina in Oct., we learned of your son, Britt's illness. Bobby shared the heartbreak all the family had endured at that point & ask us for continued prayer for Britt's physical healing, knowing God has unlimited power in Britt's life. We are so very sorry to learn of Brett's death, & PRAY GOD WILL HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS MIGHTY HAND & SHOWER YOU WITH HIS LOVE & PEACE, each & every day of your lives. We have read other online entries, learning just what an amazing young man your son was. Love in Christ, Ira Lee & Judy Howell Dunn (You may remember my dad, John Howell Jr, son of John & Minnie Massengill Howell & cousin of your dad, Bobby.

Gina, no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot find the words to convey how much I grieve with you for the loss of Britt. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to meet him last year. I saw so much of you in him that it was like looking at the past. Please know that I and many others from Myrtle Beach and around the country are keeping you and the entire family constantly before the Lord. Love and peace to you and yours for the days ahead.

Dear Gina, Although your day and weeks will be spent in mourning, allow God to soothe your spirit... I didn't when Jeffrey died and wound up being an alcoholic... When people told me he was in a better place, I angrily told them that he was better off with his mother... I spent every Holliday in so much anger and hurt and it lasted for 16 years... Today I understand and am so thankful that he is in Heaven with Jesus, my dad, Bill and my older Bro..
Jeffrey has had a beautiful time in Heaven and I wouldn't deny that for anything... Love you my precious Gina

I have a hard time understanding why he had to go to heaven but I know the gates of heaven shine a little brighter now that he is there. Our family will miss him very much. We have many fond memories of Britton from out scouting days with Cub Scout Pack 302. Britton was always entertaining and knew how to make everyone laugh. He was a great person; sincere, kind. loving, and loyal and so much more. If he were a star he would be the brightest one in the universe. So when I look up at the night sky I will always remember he always did his best!
WE love you Gina and Family.
Hugs, love prayers and peace to you

To Gina and all of Britton's family: What a beautiful and precious young man you have been blessed with. Your time of separation, as terrible as it is, will one day be but a distant memory as you share all of eternity with him in Heaven. Our prayers will be unceasing as we lift up each of you and ask God to comfort, strengthen, and hold you as only He can. Our hearts are broken, but our spirits are looking upward...determined to see him again one day soon. In the meantime..God sees every tear. We love you dearly.

Britton was loved by all and missed deeply by his friends from Inverness Middle and Citrus High. Britton was extra special because my son, Carver Scott and he were friends. My heart aches for his mom as I can not imagine her pain. However, I rejoice that one day we'll get to see Britton again, a healthy Britton with his big smile!
