PIES

Marcia Sue (nee Detmering) passed away at her home on July 19, 2014. Beloved wife of Dr. Gary G. Pies, after 51 years of marriage. Son, Kirk Michael Pies (wife Angie), daughter Kelly Lynn Pies, brother, Charles (sister-in-law Zona), grandchildren Ian, Julian, Joleen and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Marcia graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in education. She taught first grade and special needs children in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alabama, and Rochester, Minnesota. Marcia was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and an honorary member of the Ohio State PTA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Marcia to the Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 1st St. S.W., Rochester, Minnesota 55905 or U.C. Barrett Center, 234 Goodman St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45219 or a charity of choice. Services will be held at Gwen Mooney Funeral Home (4389 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45223). Visitation will be Friday, July 25, 2014 from 5-9 PM and services will be Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10 AM. Interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
