BERNING
Margaret "Peggy" (nee Doyle), January 26, 2013 at the age of 95. Wife of her late beloved husband Robert Hilary Berning. Mother of her cherished children Anne Jones (Bill) and Thomas Berning. She was preceded in death by her elder son, Joseph, a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army and her infant daughter Mary Regina. Loving grandmother of Mark (Kristi), Joseph and Regina Jones and Matthew (Rachel), Joe, Paul and Emily Berning, and great grandmother of Miller Jones, Asher and Miles Berning. A graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing, she served as a LTJG in the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II and a member of the Navy Nurse Corp Reserve until August 1951. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rose Church on Wednesday, January 30 at 10:00am with burial following at St. Joseph New Cemetery. No visitation. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan College of Nursing or St. Rose Church. Condolences at Rohdefuneral.com

Dear Anne and Family, So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I still can remember meeting such a sweet lady. I am sure she will truly be missed but know she is at peace now. May your thoughts of her always bring a smile to your face and love in your heart. Thinking of you.

I only met Mrs Berning a few times in my high school days but to this day I can still picture her smiling caring face. A person that leaves that type of image you know is a very special person and she was.
