Lawrence "Larry", Jr. age 82 of Cincinnati passed away Wednesday February 27, 2013. He was born March 13, 1930 in Findlay, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence and Ulva (Fenstermaker) Scoby, Sr. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Scoby graduated Findlay College and taught in the Greenhills/Forest Park School District for 29 years. He was a member of the Middletown Elks (BPOE) and the singing Elktones. On June 18, 1955 in Springfield, Ohio he married Sue McChesney Scoby who preceded him in death on April 29, 2004. He attended the Galbraith Road Church of God and the First Church of God in Hamilton. Mr. Scoby is survived by 4 sons Stephen Scoby of Amelia, Nathan (Edwina) Scoby of Maineville, Robert (Nelly) Scoby of Fairfield, and Mark (Annette) Scoby of Trenton; 1 daughter Susan (Mike) Fitzgerald of West Chester; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and 1 sister Naomi Scoby of Findlay. Mr. Scoby was also preceded in death by his son William Scoby and his brother Jack (Kay) Scoby. Visitation 5-8 PM Monday at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 5, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Kufeldt, officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
