Beryl Reichelderfer

Beryl Theodore "Ted" Reichelderfer, 86, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born on July 26, 1931, in Stoutsville, the 8th child of the late Russell and Altha (Harpster) Reichelderfer.
Ted graduated from Stoutsville High School in 1949. He entered the U.S. Army in 1952 and served as an M.P. in Korea during the Korean War. Ted followed his older brother, Ed, into the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a radio operator. He retired from the Patrol in 1986 as chief of communications.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Pythias.
Ted married the girl next door, Marilyn Jean Justus, of Stoutsville, in 1955. She preceded him in death in 2013.
They had 4 daughters who survive: Pamela Sue Reichelderfer of Cincinnati, Diana Lynn (Barbara Metz) Reichelderfer of Baltimore, OH, Carla Jean Reichelderfer of Cincinnati and Lisa Ann Reichelderfer of Mt. Sterling. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Chelsea Faye (Stephen) Polleys of Troy and Zachary Alan Popowski of Columbus and his brother, Clyde Reichelderfer of Circleville.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Evelyn Gray, Alyce Thompson and Marvene Cochran; and 4 brothers, Edward, Robert, Raymond and Vaughn Reichelderfer.
Ted's Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, with The Rev. Dr. Gerhard Kraus officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his dear wife, Marilyn, in Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville, with military service provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard.
