Carl Frady Obituary

Rev. Carl Aldrich Frady, Jr.

Asheville - Rev. Carl Aldrich Frady, Jr., 86, of Asheville, died Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Mission Hospital.

A native of Transylvania Co., he was a son of the late Carl and Mary Verdery Frady. He was also preceded in death by brothers Toby and George Frady.

Mr. Frady was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School, he attended Moody Bible College and Fruitland Bible Institute, and graduated Cum Laude from Mars Hill College, and received a Master's Degree from Erskine Seminary. He served as Associate Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and choir member.

Mr. Frady was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1946-1947.

Mr. Frady is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn "Pat" Spivey Frady; sisters, Betty Stanley and husband Dick, and Patricia Larmon; and brother-in-law Joe Spivey and wife Sue.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Revs. Nathan Pruett and Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 718 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806, and/or to the Carolyn S. Frady Scholarship Fund, c/o UNC-A, 1 University Heights, Asheville, NC 28804.

Carl was the best friend of my brother, Wesley Gregory. A friendship that started in the 1950's.therefore he was like a big brother to me and my sisters. He was dearly loved my all of us and will be missed. He is with our Lord whom he served so faithfully.
