FRANKLIN - Arline C. Swenson, 86, of Damy Drive in Franklin died Friday, Aug. 06, 2010 at the Franklin Regional Hospital in Franklin following a short illness.

She was born in Franklin, June 18, 1924, daughter of John E. and Elise V. (Bosselait) Roach. Arline lived in Franklin until she and her husband Herman moved to Clearwater, Fla in 1968. They lived there until returning to Franklin in 1995.

For more than 24 years Arline was an executive administrative assistant at the John Swenson Granite Company in Concord before her retirement in 1968. She was a former member and officer of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and charter member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, both of Franklin. Arline served as a Franklin School Board member from 1960 to 1965 and served as treasurer for the City of Franklin from 1967 to 1968. She was a parishioner of St. Paul Church in Franklin.

Arline was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Herman J. A. Swenson, April 5, 2003. Her family includes her aunt Edith Bosselait of Laconia; cousins, including Greg Bosselait of Portsmouth and Lee Ann Michelin of Franklin.

According to Arline's wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Webster Lake Road in Franklin. A celebration of Arline's life will follow at the Community Room, New Franklin Apartments, 31 Damy Drive in Franklin.

Arrangements are under the care of the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home in Tilton.

Contributions may be made in Arline's name to the Franklin Public Library, 310 Central St., Franklin, NH 03235.
