Kenneth Ivester Obituary
HEBRON - Kenneth R. Ivester Jr., 61, died suddenly, Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in Winchester, Mass., the son of the late Kenneth and Irene (Atkinson) Ivester Sr. Ken grew up in North Reading, Mass., graduated from North Reading High School and the University of New Hampshire. After completing his education, he returned to North Reading and worked with his family at Ivester Insurance Agency.
Ken went on to work in the restaurant industry and moved to Bristol where he owned and operated the Mill Stream Restaurant. In 2001, he entered the real estate field and became a partner of Century 21 Country Lakes Realty.
Ken loved and cherished the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed playing golf as well as board and card games.
Ken was a member of the Bristol Lions Club.
Family members include his mother of Center Tuftonboro; his life partner, Cecilia Lawton of Hebron; three sons, Kenneth "Kip" Ivester III of Lynnfield, Mass., Brett Ivester of North Reading, Mass., and Zachary Ivester of New York, N.Y.; two sisters, Joann Andrews of Center Tuftonboro and Diane Bumford of Lebanon, Maine; stepchildren Aby Rosales and Mateo Lawton; step-granddaughter Peyton Dotolo; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Calling hours will be on Thursday, Aug. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Spring Street, Bristol. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.
A committal service will be held at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery in North Reading, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701-4688; or the Bristol Lions Club, 41 Worfield Circle, Bristol NH 03222.
Emmons Funeral Home of Bristol has been entrusted with the arrangements.

So very sad to learn of Ken's passing. He was a very close friend and classmate of mine while growing up in North Reading. Brings back fond memories of those happy days in high school; the Hillview Country Club, sports, good friends and just hanging around together. Although it has been too many years since we've seen each other, he will not be forgotten. Our deepest condolences to his family.

I have not seen Ken in many years. I went
to school wih Ken and always enjoyed him.
He was my first insurance agent. I enjoyed when he has his restaurants and frequented them often. I am saddened to

With deepest sympathy Cecilia, Irene, Joann, Diane, Kip, Brett, Zack and all whose lives Ken touched. My family and I are shocked and deeply saddened by this untimely loss. I have known Ken since our childhood summer days in Melvin...what great times and adventures we had. Ken was a great guy, enthusiastic, fun to be with and clearly cherished family and friends. He has a fond place in my memories and campfire stories.

Cecilia and family - I just met Ken about a year ago through my work in the Newfound Region. I immediately liked him, that warm smile lit up a room, and he was always a joy to chat with. Our region has lost a wonderful man. My thoughts are with you!
