Bertha Dunlap Obituary

Bertha N. Dunlap, 91, a resident of Hanover Township for many years, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Stefanoski Plisko. She was educated in Hanover schools and was a graduate of Hanover High School.

She was first employed by the state of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, before being employed as a bookkeeper by auto dealerships in Wilkes-Barre and the Philadelphia area.

She was a much loved wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed very much.

In addition to her loving husband for more than 60 years, Earnest G. Dunlap, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard P. Dunlap; a brother, Anthony Plisko; and sisters, Eleanor Kilinski, Sophie Manusky and Helen Pavinski.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Wilson and husband Tom, North Pole, Alaska; grandchildren, Janell Besa and husband, Lawrence, Broomall; Kevin, Christopher and Joseph DuBell, Florida; and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, St. Aloysius Church, Division Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Andrew R. Sinnott officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Hanover Township. Visitation for friends will be held at Desiderio funeral Home Inc., 679 Carey Ave., Hanover Township, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
