Mary Ann Steber

Mary Ann Steber, 75, of Mocanaqua, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, surrounded by her family, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., where she had been a patient.

Born Jan. 4, 1943, in Mocanaqua, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Lenkaitis) Rosmus.

She graduated in 1961 from the former Newport High School, Wanamie, and was a longtime resident of Mocanaqua. She retired 20 years ago from Bi-Lo (formerly Acme Markets). She enjoyed listening to polkas and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She celebrated her 75th birthday on Jan. 4, 2018 with a family dinner.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Steber and Lorraine Prukalski.

Surviving are her husband, Edward G. Steber, whom she married on Sept. 4, 1965; two daughters, MaryAnn Domzalski and her husband Rick, Seymour, Ind.; and Lisa Steber and Leroy Moyer, Mocanaqua; a son, Ed Steber and his wife, Marcy, Shickshinny; grandchildren, Leah Domzalski, Newnan, Ga.; Ryan Steber, Boynton Beach, Fla.; Elizabeth and Jill Domzalski, both of Gainesville, Fla.; Kyle Domzalski, Seymour, Ind.; and Aubrey and Travis Steber, both of Shickshinny; and a sister, Bernadine Rosmus, Nanticoke.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Parish/St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua, with her pastor, the Rev. Louis Kaminski, as celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
