Kristie Seiwell Obituary
Born Jan. 11, 1973 in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of Michael and Dee Pfau Bates of Slocum Twp., and her biological father, the late John Borick.
She was a graduate of Crestwood High School, class of 1991, and the Wilkes-Barre Area Vo-Tech School of Nursing. Kristie was a dedicated nurse working in nursing homes throughout the Wyoming Valley.
Kristie was a devoted wife, loving mother and friend to all. She had a deep passion for the caring of animals, and she was a member of Holy Family Parish Church, Sugar Notch.
She and her husband, Anthony, celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on Feb. 18, 2017. In addition, she is survived by her children Anthony, Kristofer and Brianna, all at home; brothers, John Jr. and his wife, Nicole Borick, Nanticoke, Michael and his wife, Aly Bates, Seaford, Del., Timothy and his wife, Kellie Bates, Slocum Twp.; sister Bridget Bates VanMeter, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Those who desire may give memorial contributions to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612 or the American Cancer Society.

Kristie and Briana were great friends. Kristie was a long time friend of my daughter Leah Strangos and my grandchildren Sebastian Maul and Sabrina Maul. When Kristie was working at Birchwood she also took very good care of my Mom, Adela Fulton. We all loved Kristie and she will forever be remembered as a very loving and caring women. We all miss her and were greatly saddened when we lost her. She is now in heaven and looking after all of us.

I met this beautiful woman when both our sons played little league baseball in Newport twp. She had a smile for everyone, very welcoming to my family, and i newcomers to area. Her love and support was always Crystal Clear, and the families love for her just as transparent. God bless her, and may we all remember the positive force she was, just being her.
