Dale Metzger Obituary

VALLEY FALLS- Dale Metzger, 93, of Valley Falls died Fri., Sept. 23, 2005 at Holton Manor. He was born Aug. 24, 1912 at Oskaloosa the son of Walter and Madie Bates Metzger. Dale was a farmer-stockman at Valley Falls for many years. He was married to Gladys C. Jackson in 1933. She preceded him in death in 1993. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Monte Barrow, in 1983. Surviving are two daughters: Dalene Senn of Valley Falls and Ilene Barrow of Holton; a son: Jim Metzger of Los Angeles, CA; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be in Valley Falls Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005 at 1012 16th Street, Valley Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Falls Historical Society, 308 Broadway, Valley Falls, KS 66088 OR Holton Community Hospital Hospice, 1110 Columbine Dr., Holton, KS 66436.
