Philip Stephen Crow, Jr., 70, Topeka, passed away Fri., Oct. 22, 2010. Steve was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Topeka, the son of The Rev. Philip S. Crow, Sr. and Zella Marguerite Carver Crow. He graduated from Field Kinley High in Coffeyville in 1958 and earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1964. On Dec. 21, 1963, Steve and Joan Marie Oswald were united in marriage in Lawrence KS. They enjoyed almost 47 years together. Steve began his pharmacy career in Dodge City, returning to Topeka for a position at Jayhawk Pharmacy before serving at the VA Hospital. In 1968 he accepted the Director of Pharmacy at St. Francis Hospital. In 1985, Steve and Joan purchased Carbondale Pharmacy, where he worked until his retirement in 2000. He was a life member of the KU Alumni Assoc., a member of the Kansas and American Pharmacy Assoc., and was past President of Kansas Hospital Pharmacy Assoc. Steve was a member of the Episcopal Church. He was an avid KU fan and a wonderful Papa. Survivors include his wife, Joan Crow; son, Chris (LeAnn) Crow and their children, Austin and Logan; and son, Brad (Gretchen) Crow and their daughter, Ashley; his brothers, Raymond Crow, Casper, WY, and Vincent Crow, Gig Harbor, WA. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tues. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka, KS 66614, where family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Graveside service will be private. Memorial contributions are suggested to COPD Foundation, Grace Hospice and Topeka Rescue Mission sent in care of the funeral home.
