George " Catfish" was a true professional and a pleasure to fly with- Germany, Baton Rouge or San Francisco- it didn't matter. I wish we could have flown longer. My feelings go out to your family. Be strong as he would have wanted and know he was one of the finest men I have ever known. "George, order us a couple of Grand Mariner Souffles when I see you again. God Bless, Greg Tatum

My husband Bill Nease and I both enjoyed trips we flew with George, Those were the good ole days of the MSY base. George was a favorite.
Always polite, caring and "one damn good pilot" as my husband would say.

George will be missed. Flying with him was a real pleasure. It was folks like George that made MSY such an enjoyable experience. I was glad to have known during his time with us. Life may be short but certainly the memories will last forever.

Capt Catfish was how I knew George. He was funny beyond belief, compassionate when needed, and a true professional aviator! He made our work rewarding, and our flights together zipped by. I miss him being in this world...

May God Bless George and his family. He was one of the "good guys" that made MSY the best base in Delta Air Lines! He flew the big Delta Jets and flew the general aviation classics. Wilbur and Orville Wright will have a lot of questions to ask him for sure.

George and I were friends for many many years as pilots for Delta Airlines. We also both enjoyed flying in each other's private planes after retirement. One of my favorite memories of George is when he was knighted in Germany and became the "onliest knight in Mississippi!" Catfish Or Mr. Catfish-post oil Was a true legend on Delta Airlines and will be sorely missed. Much love,Hubert Lipscomb Nancy Ussery
