Ernest LeCounte Obituary

Deacon Ernest LeCounte, 72, was born June 27, 1938. Ernest was educated in the public schools of Liberty County. His Christian walk began at First African Baptist Church of Riceboro.
In 1957, Ernest relocated to Miami, Fla., to better himself. He was employed at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the field of environmental services where he became a supervisor. Ernest continued his Christian journey by joining The Greater New Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on the usher board, sang in the male chorus and was chairman of the deacons ministry.
Ernest leaves to carry on his legacy and treasure his memories of love, his loving wife of 49 and a half years, Bernice Miller-LeCounte; three children, Paula Griffin of Atlanta, Ruby LeCounte-Baker (Michael) and Michael LeCounte (Cleo); two brothers, Jessie LeCounte Jr. (Barbara), all of Miami, and Franklin LeCounte (Margaret) of Riceboro; one sister, Margie Pendergraph (Remer) of Savannah; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a godson, Lorenzo King.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at First African Baptist Church of Riceboro. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday May 13, at the church.
Adams Funeral Services, 510 Stephenson Ave., Savannah, is in charge of arrangements.
