EARL WALTS Obituary

EARL C. WALTS, 83, of Bartlett, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011. He was born on July 27, 1927 in Watertown, NY to Charles and Hazel Walts. In 1945, he joined the Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief Yeoman after 25 years of faithful service. He then worked at the Pentagon for the Department of Defense for 16 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine; daughter, Donna Briggs of Millington, TN, and son, Earl Jr. (Rose) of Alexandria, VA. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bartlett Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 10 a.m. in the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the Fisher House Foundation (donates “comfort homes” built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers to enable family members to be close to loved ones), 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850.
