MARY CLAUDIA BREWER WORD obituary, Elgin, SC

MARY WORD Obituary

Mary Claudia Brewer Word, age 70 of Elgin, SC, died Friday, February 6, 2015. A native of Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Brewer and Elva Mae Hall Brewer. She was a loving wife, mother, and “Granny”. Mrs. Word is survived by her husband, Charles Word; sons, Ty Word (Nicole) of Union Grove, WI, Brad Word (Maribeth) of Columbia, SC; sisters, Tessie Mathis, Susan Fowler (Danny), and Becky Stroud (Mike), brother Ricky Brewer all of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by a grandson, Jack Word. Mrs. Word was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Brewer, and sisters, Jeanette Stark and Joan Weaver. The family would like to thank Dr. Eddie Williams and the ICU staff at Palmetto Health Baptist for their care of Mrs. Word. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Word may be made to the American Lung Association.

Chuck, Brad, Ty. My heart just aches as I realize that Claudia is no longer on this earth. Our deep friendship during your time in Kansas City cannot be measured. Bless you all as you share this loss together. Claudia was one of a kind. Her laughter and love will not be forgotten.
