Such an angelic soul gone way too soon. I think of you often. I still hear your voice so clearly as you sing Hezekiah Walker’s Let The Glory. It’s yet a ministry to my spirit. Thank you for the childhood treasures and for being a light shining bright. You are truly missed.

To the Polk and Haley Family, I want to encourage you to be strong in the Lord, even now. We know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Donna was an angel loaned to us who has now earned her wings. Cherish the memories of Donna as I know that she cherished every minute spent with each of you. Donna never took one day for granted and she loved the Lord with all her heart. That love could be heard in her singing, in her talking, in her praying, amongst family, friends and even strangers. Every aspect of her life exemplified the love of God and her unwavering faith and trust in Him. As you carry on, let us be mindful to trust God and never waiver in the faith, just as Donna did.
Prayerfully submitted

I met Donna back at Memphis State, and she was the sweetest most soft spoken person I'd ever met. I loved to hear Donna sing and she graced us with her beautiful voice at my wedding back in 1996. I'll have that memory of Donna always!

One day God told his precious angel,"I have a special mission for you. You will get married and you will have a child, but I will be calling you home very soon after, although you may not understand why, I will give you insight to my perfect will. Close to the end you will see and will then understand why I brought you back to me." Haley and Polk families, Donna is smiling down and saying don't cry for me I have just finished a well done mission of God so that he could get the glory out of it. Donna's life has touched so many,I am thankful that she touched mine.
Donna my dear and precious friend, I finally said my goodbye to you today and I am going to miss you very much. I will always remember the day I met you. It was a special day, you said, "You seem like a nice lady will you be my friend", we were friends ever since. Now that you are gone, I don't have to worry about you anymore you are finally at peace, you are with the one who loves you the most.

To ALL who loved Donna So Very Much
Her Journey's Just Begun
Her Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away,
her journey's just begun,
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one,
Just think of her as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
In a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days or years,
Think how she must be wishing,
that we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness,
can really pass away,
And think of her as living,
in the hearts of those she touched,
For nothing loved is ever lost,
and she was loved so much.

Donna was such an Angel, even as a child. She was so loving and kind to everyone she met. A Small, humble, sanctied woman full of love and grace and one not to be forgotten by us. To Ulysses, Destiny, all of her brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, Donna's passing has been quite difficult. But we know that she is no longer in pain and will be with Jesus.
Her parents and Adrienne will greet her when she gets to heaven. If we live right, we will see her again.
From ALL of her First Cousins, we will miss you Donna..

I am so sorry to hear that Donna past away. When I heard, I immediately thought about when we were coming up as little girls in the church. We would always see each other at district meetings, jurisdictional meetings and state convocations. My mom knew her mom and dad. We were like family. I remember the time when we both enrolled at Memphis State University. She was very head strong about getting her degree. Whatever it took and how long, didn't matter to her. We would cross paths often and managed to take a Volley Ball class together. She and I were both apprehensive about dressing out in shorts, but it was required. She would always say "I hate dressing out , It shows my knobby knees and skinny legs. And I am so skinny." I told her, "Stop worrying and thank God for being little. " She would alway where a white t-shirt, white shorts, white socks, and white shoes. She made sure that she was neat and presentable. Even then, in a P.E. class, Donna carried herself with so much grace. It was natural. It was her persona. We both never played Volley Ball so we were both very ackward. We would just laugh when one of us would mess up. After a while we got the hang of it and would become competitive. I miss those days and I will miss Donna. God bless the family and I will pray for your strength.

I met Donna when I first came to Memphis back in the late 80's, through a great group of saved young folk. Whenever I saw her she was the same sweet and soft spoken person. I have been away for the last several years, I knew she had some challenges with her health, even though, she wasn't heal on this side of Heaven, I do know that she will have a new body on that Great Resurrection Day!!!
Ulysses, Destiny and siblings remember there is no sorry or hurt Heaven can not heal! I pray God's Blessing upon everyone.
Donna RIP!

To the Polk Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you all! I met Donna at the beauty shop and we connected real quick and talked for hours. I didn't know her well, but her sweet, kind and compassionate spirit was evident. She loved God and her family. She was a beautiful person and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Eventhough her time on earth was short by our standards, she touched a lot of people's lives including mine.
May the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God Bless!
