Alberta Davis Obituary
Memphis, TN
Alberta B. Davis, 88, passed away peacefully, September 25, 2016, at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House. "Miss Alberta and/or "Aunt Bert," as family and friends affectionately called her, was born in Brunswick, Tennessee on April 12, 1928 to the late Tommie and Esther Becton. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse of the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department. Alberta was an active member of St. John Baptist Church where she served in many capacities: nursery attendant, choir member, teacher, nurse and club secretary. Alberta truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, travels, fellowships and giving her time, energy and resources to help others. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 4 from 5-7 p.m. She will lay in state Wednesday, October 5 from 10-10:55 a.m. at St. John Baptist Church, 640 Vance Avenue, with Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Garden Cemetery, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. She leaves to cherish two sons, Russell Davis, Gregory (Carol) Davis, her siblings Jewel (James) Phillips, Jerri (Troy) Caraway, Charlie Becton and Tommie Earl Becton and a host of other relatives and friends. www.AlbertaBDavis.com.
