Jill Bratcher Obituary

Jill Annette Bratcher
Dec. 7, 1958 - March 28, 2014
Resident of Concord
Jill Annette Bratcher passed from this life on March 28 after a brave fight with cancer. She was a caring, creative woman of strong Christian faith who will be dearly missed by a multitude of loving friends and family. Jill was born in McMinnville, OR, graduated from McMinnville High School, and earned a bachelor of arts in economics from Wells College in Aurora, NY. In 1985 she moved to Martinez, CA where she sank her roots, launching her career and establishing herself as an integral part of Morello Hills Christian Church, Bible Study Fellowship and Project Second Chance. One of her most treasured roles was that of "Auntie Jill", as she poured love into the lives of dozens of her church's young people.
Jill was a woman of many talents and interests, ranging from sci-fi conventions to painting and story-writing. She could beat most anyone in games involving words, numbers or recall of movie trivia. Her loves connected her with people from across the globe, many of whom joined the ranks of her closest friends. Even after several trips abroad, her favorite get-away spot remained Heavenly Hills Christian Camp.
Jill is survived by her brother Lynn (Darlene) Bratcher, sister Donna Kuust, five nieces and nephews, her "love-related" family – the Francis family of Martinez – and countless other friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Bratcher.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 2:00pm at Morello Hills Christian Church in Martinez. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heavenly Hills Christian Camp, PO Box 1628, Twain Harte, CA 95383 or to Sanctuary for Kids (online).

I still miss you Jill. Every time I need a sounding board or an intelligent conversation, I wish I could pick up the phone and call you. Your intellect, wit, and wisdom was probably the best combination I've ever seen in a human being. RIP my dear friend...

My prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friend of Jill. Although it was many years ago I worked with Jill at Chubb, I remember her as such a fun, kind and loving person.

My sincere condolences to Jill's extended family. Though I haven't seen Jill since college, we kept in touch through my 'photo challenges' on Facebook, and always loved getting a photo from her. I know she will missed at her sci-fi conventions. :)

I remember Jill from Heavenly Hills Christian Camp. Her deep love for people showed in her vivacious hugs and disarming smile. Thanks Jill for sharing your faith with the youth who came into your life!

Our sincere condolences from the staff at PDP Company. Jill was the epitome of "Auntie" and you could feel the love when she spoke of her nieces and nephews. Her joy was tangible as she told her stories of sci-fi conventions and travels. She was 'transported' far too soon.

Our condolences to Jill's family
She was an inspiration to me in doing the family genealogy and keep at it as well as an inspiration in everyday
Her glowing personality was catchy and showed even thu the internet she will be missed by her many friends and her extended families
Our daughter thought it was so “cool” that she knew so many from the cast of Stargate SG 1 and so on I know that is one thing that our daughter will always remember of Jill as well as talking with her too.
Rest peacefully Auntie Jill your whole now no more pain
