Leonard Ohlsson Obituary

Leonard 'Bud' Ohlsson Resident of Walnut Creek Passed away in Walnut Creek on January 4, 2012, at age 89. A United States Veteran, serving in the Air Force. He was the son of the late Hugo and Arline Ohlsson. Predeceased by his first wife Evelyn (mother of his children), and infant daughter Leigh Ellen. Also predeceased by wives Fran and Joanne. Widowed by his wife, Betty. Survived by daughter Karen Navratil (Craig) of Kauai, son Ward of Boulder Creek, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also known as Dave Medley, the name he fondly assumed while performing his musical talents on the piano for many years during which he wrote many of his own songs. He held many careers and took pride in his brief career as a firefighter for the Contra Costa County Fire Department in the early 1950's. He enjoyed living at the Walnut Creek Manor for the last 24 years and was the self-proclaimed Mayor and welcoming committee of the complex. A celebration of his life will be held at the Walnut Creek Manor, 81 Mayhew Way, Walnut Creek, in the Club House Social Hall on Sunday, February 19, at 2 p.m.

Dad, I was sorry not to be with you at this time. I am ill in Hawaii and treasure that you wrote me the day you met your maker with courage. Of course, I know you loved me! I enjoyed our letters and phone calls. Your personality was unique; my lifetime memories will never fade. You are truly loved by your family. RIP, Karen and son in law Craig who adored you as well. Daddio - hearts and flowers to you.
