Toni FINGER Obituary

Toni Laurance Finger Longtime Contra Costa County Resident Toni passed away June 27, 2010 at age 89. She is greatly missed and survived by her husband George Finger of Walnut Creek; and her sons and their families John Finger and Terry Byrnes and Tom Finger and Pam Jahner of Walnut Creek; and son Tim Finger of Ennis, Montana. She is also dearly missed by her grandchildren Ben Finger, Iris Finger and Jon Finger and wife Lillian Finger. Toni was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 12, 1921. The Toni Home Permanent was named after her after the inventor met the young Toni at a family dinner. She graduated as a registered nurse from the Milwaukee School of Nursing and later married George Finger of Richmond Heights, Missouri, on June 8, 1948. Toni and George moved to Lafayette, CA where they built their home and raised their three boys. She and her husband traveled to many parts of the world for bird watching and wildlife viewing. Toni was an avid reader, loved to follow politics, and give to humanitarian and environmental causes. Toni was also an active and dedicated volunteer for the Friends of the Lafayette and Walnut Creek Libraries. In 2001, she received the Volunteer of the Year Award for her many years of service for the Lafayette Friends of the Library. Any donations in Toni's honor may be made to your local Friends of the Library.
