Joseph A. Mangini
Resident of Concord
Joseph Andrew Mangini, 66, entered eternal rest surrounded by his family in Concord on September 30, 2011. Joe, a member of a Concord pioneer family, is the son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Levada) Mangini. He was a graduate of Queen of All Saints Grammar School and a 1963 graduate of Mt. Diablo High School. Joe served his country proudly as a member of the US Air Force. He was a longtime cattle and horse rancher who spent many hours as a young man at the Mangini Ranch. He was "Mr. Fix It" when it came to fixing almost everything at the Contra Costa Water District and on the ranch. He was a member of Concord Farm Bureau and Groveland Kiwanis.
Joe is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Lynn Mangini; sons and daughter-in-law, James (Jim) and Sandy Mangini, Joseph Mangini and Jared Mangini; grandchildren Elizabeth, Ashley, Alexandra, Taylor and Holle Mangini. Joe is also survived by brother, Rev. Richard A. Mangini and sister, Karen A. Mangini as well as many cousins and friends. Joe especially enjoyed his role as "Papa/Grandpa" to his granddaughters!
Visitation commencing at 6:00PM, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 with Vigil Service at 7:30PM at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord. Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30AM, Thursday, October 6, 2011 also at St. Bonaventure Church. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorials in Joe's name may be made to American Institute Cancer Research, 1759 R Street SW, Washington, DC 20009.

I will miss Joe so much .He was a great help to me on the ranch . I always could find the tool I needed for my work and got great life advice from him .Ilove you Sherry Karen and Fr.Richared.Untill we meet him again .Where is Joe.Answer in heaven riding a horse.
