Olas Scott Obituary
COLUMBUS: Olas Laverne Scott, Sr., age 85, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012.
He was born in Morgan County, Ohio, to the late James B. and Bertha (Cain) Scott. After high school, Olas proudly served our country in the US Army Air Force. He worked as an agent for Universal Guaranty Life Insurance, and as a bookkeeper at Tripletts Drug Store in Coshocton, Ohio. He was a longtime member of Karl Road Christian Church.
Along with his parents, Olas was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie J. (Middlemus) Scott; sons, Brent A. Scott and Mark A. Scott; grandson, Thomas A. Scott; siblings, James B. (Sally) Scott, Estyl Scott (Glen) Waite, and Marilyn Scott (Russell) Lang; and brother-in-law, Bernard Samberson.
Olas is survived by his children, Brenda L. Scott (John) Finfgeld, Olas L. (Gil) Scott Jr., and Karen S. Scott; siblings, Pansy Scott Pickenpaugh, Arlene Scott (Bob) Daughtery, Evelyn Scott, Geraldine (Keith) Walrath, Janet Scott Samberson, and Linda Scott (JD) Arms; grandson, Jeffrey M. (Erin) Scott; and great grandchildren, Kate, Samantha, and Jeffrey M. Scott Jr.
Family will receive friends from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment following at Frazeysburg Cemetery at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
