David was a very special person that made people feel they had known him all their life....a very warm, kind-hearted, gentle person that always chose to have a positive outlook and positive comments about his fellow man and the world around him. At the same time he could relate to folks and make a connection no matter who he would meet. He could always make us laugh and it was always a joy to be in his company. My husband and I both will miss him as a friend and co-worker.

I've only known David since 2004 when we begin working together on an S&B project, but I realized from our very first meeting that he possessed a very special character and ability to understand others and to bring out the best in them...he was a true friend and I'll miss him greatly.

I am very sad to hear about my ole friend David, I just lost a part of my youth. David and I were running buddies at CHS on and off the track. David excelled in his endeavors; he excelled at football, excellent high hurdler, made the state finals in the grueling 330 intermediate hurdles, and went to Lamar University on a track scholarship. We recently reconnected at our recent CHS reunion where we joked and laughed. He was the same David and made what was an all time winner of a day. I'm glad his genes are carried on.

To Kari, Leigh, and Jessie, I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Your Dad was a great individual and will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched. I was honored to have had the opportunity to know and work with him here at S&B. Everyone that I have spoken with also shares in the loss of your Dad and he will always hold a special place in our hearts, forever.

My heart is so heavy for Ms. Neva. My Mom is Ms. Neva's roommate and friend at Gemstone Assisted Living. When David would be visiting his Mom, he always gave my Mom a hug too. When we happened to be there together, I got a "David hug" too. My family has been blessed by knowing the Stephens family this past year. My Mom and I are so saddened by this loss.

David, I will miss you. You were one of the sweetest, kindness men I ever worked with. God must have needed a good Construction Manager for one of his projects and called you home to help him out. Leave the light on for us, we'll be seeing you on the other side someday. May God Bless your family and keep them strong, my thoughts and prayers are with them.

Dave and I worked together with S & B and were neighbors in the Apartment Complex in Montana. He was a great man to work for and cared deeply for his family. He also in our talks told me he had placed his faith in the Lord as his saviour. Even though he didn't go to church that much he had trusted in Christ and that let's us know he is in heaven today. Currently working in Fort Stockton Texas and won't be able to attend the memorial. My prayers are with you all.
