A private interment was held on Friday, December 26 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Huntsville, Texas for Billie Schaefer, age 81, who passed away at her home in Conroe on December 23. She was born on March 18, 1933 in Huntsville, Texas to James and Arrie Allen. She attended Sam Houston State Teachers College and retired from Entergy in Conroe where she worked for almost 30 years. Billie is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 49 years, Marvin, daughter and son in law, Ginny and Jimmy Bienvenu, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, James Allen, of Huntsville and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as "Mimi" to her family. The family would like to extend special thanks to Vitas Hospice and her many caregivers, as well as the doctors and staff at MD Anderson, for the compassionate care and attention given to her during her time of need. She will be sadly missed by all who love her.

Marvin and family, you have my heart-felt sympathy for your loss. Without her effort, I would have never worked at GSU and I have always been grateful to her. She was a wonderful lady and she will be missed. God bless you all!

Marvin - so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I enjoyed working with Billie at Gulf States. She was a joy to work with and always helpful. I learned so much from her in my early days; she was a mentor and teacher to many of us as we were starting out. I'll always remember her kindness. May God wrap his loving arms around each of you at this time and give you comfort and peace!

Marvin, I was sadden to learn of Billie's death but know she is now at peace. She often told me you were the love of her life and a wonderful father-image for her daughters. She was a loyal employee of Gulf States all those years. Billie was always available to help employees, especially the retirees, with their problems even after she retired. She was Secretary-Treasurer of the Sideliners when I was President and I know how concerned and helpful she was during that time, especially. My prayer is that you and Billie's family will find peace and comfort until you meet again.
