I knew Rose and her husband for a long while. It is sad to see our older folks leaving us but we know their reunion with loved ones is sweet and a just reward for their years of service and joy they added to our church.

Rose was a special part of our family for many years. She and A.B. were a delight, adding hours of pleasure to our get-togethers, each in their own unique way. Rose was full of life, quick-witted and always ready to sing. A.B. was gentle, soft-spoken and loving. GOD blessed us with their friendship. We rejoice that they are together worshipping at the feet of JESUS. Nora Mae Odom

ROSE LIGHFOOT WAS MARRIED TO REV. A. B. LIGHTFOOT WHO WAS AN EVANGELIST. I KNEW A. B. LIGHTFOOT AND AT ONE TIME HE ASKED ME TO SERVICE AS HIS ADVANCE MAN FOR HIS EVANGELISTIC CRUSADES. I WAS ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF SWEETWATER AND WAS PLANNING ON GOING TO SOUTHWESTERN SEMINARY. SO I TURNED DOWN A. B. LIGHTFOOT AND WENT ON TO THE SEMINARY. BUT A. B. LIGHTFOOT WAS A GODLY MAN AND PREACHED A TRUE GOSPEL MESSAGE. AND MY LIFE MAY HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT IF I HAD TAKEN HIM UP ON HIS INVITATION. ROSE AND I WORKED IN THE SAME CHURCH. MIMS BAPTIST CHURCH. TODAY I AM 85 JUST A YEAR OLDER THAN ROSE LIGHT, BUT ROSE WAS A COMPASSIONATE CHRISTIAN AND LOVED THE LORD JESUS. SHE IS HAVING A GREAT TIME IN HEAVEN REJOICING TO BE WITH A. B. LIGHTFOOT AGAIN. WE SHALL MEET AGAIN ON THAT BEAUTIFUL SHORE. AND PRAISE OUR LORD FOR HIS LOVE. LOVE IN CHRIST, LEWIS C. PRICE

I felt a sadness when I learned of Rose's passing but also gladness that she is once again the vivacious, fun-loving and active woman she once was. I can only imagine the joyous reunion between her and A.B. and Richard. My memories of time spent with her include a lot of laughing and, often, shopping. She so enjoyed finding a good bargain. Her musical talent gave me a lift many times, most especially when she stood at the foot of my father's hospital bed after his heart bypass surgery and sang to him. She, and A.B., were there for my son's college graduation and on other special family occasions. The memories are many and readily bring a smile.
