O'Brien, Thomas J. III On March 27, 2016 age 59 of Runnemede, NJ. Tom was a graduate of Camden Co. Vocational school class of 1975, after high school he served in the US Navy . After he was discharged he went to work at the Phila. Naval Ship Yard here he worked for over 10 years. He has worked for the US Mint as a Material Maintenance Expeditor Since 1995. Tom was a member of the Runnemede VFW Post 3324 , and the Warrior Watch Riders where he was known as "Obie" .
Husband of Evelyn (nee Booth). Father of Nali S. O'Brien and Rani R. O'Brien. Son of Thomas J. Obrien and the late Margaret (nee Skay). Brother of Margaret "Peggy" Mitchell, Joann (Ray) Schuman and Karen (Bob) Kling. Also survived by many nieces, Nephews and Friends. Tom will be remembered for his loving and caring manner with everyone he came to know Mass of
Christian Burial 10 am Friday at Christ Our Light RC Church, 402 Kings Highway N. Cherry Hill, NJ. Visitation Thurs. eve 6- 8 pm at the Lewis Funeral Home, Moorestown, NJ. Interment will be Private. Dear Evelyn, Its's Lisa O'Malley. I just found out that Tom has passed. I'm so terribly sorry that I didn't know sooner. I would have come to the funeral. My deepest sympathy to you and the girls. No words can express the pain that I feel for you all at this time. My love and prayers go out to your entire family!!

Dear O'Brien Family:
I only knew Tom as a fellow employee and I found him to be such a friendly person who touched everyone he spoke to. I will miss his daily hellos as he left work and I was entering work on a different shift. Sorry for your loss! Tom will be well remembered by the numerous people he touched.

We met Tom a few times when he was hanging around your parents house in Pennsauken when we were hanging out with Scott many years ago. We never really knew him that good but what we remember is he was so easy to get along with and always happy. Sorry for your loss.

Oh Tom, you were taken too soon. Thanks so much for your larger-than-life nature, and your natural funniness. You couldn't not consider Tommy a friend. He was kind, caring, and funny. He loved his family. He had a great work ethic. (Worked with him at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard). He was a man you trusted. In fact, he was a Trustee for the Boilermakers/Iron Shipbuilders Local 19 for several years. Glad to have known him.

Karen,Joann and Peggy, to you ladies and your families and Tom's family...I am so sorry for your loss! I loved Tommy O'Brien and meeting up with him again in recent history they way I did and getting to celebrate our Irish heritage together is nothing short of a miracle to me. And just having kept in touch with Karen and keeping up with you all has meant more to me than you all know. Karen and I...forever friends! Real friends! I love you all.
