Darrell Cohoon Obituary

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Darrell Lee Cohoon Sr, 56, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville.
Darrell was a member of River City Eagles, Aerie #4023. He played Bass Guitar for Water Street Band. Darrell was an avid NASCAR Fan and collected old vinyl record albums.
He loved his family and his pet dog "Moochie".
Preceding Darrell in death was his mother, Patricia Cohoon in 2003. Darrell is survived by his wife of 20 years, Julie; his father, Charles Cohoon of Boonville, six children, Vanessa Wright (Jon) of Rockport, Derek Cohoon (Cindy) of Boonville, Eric Myers (Dana), David Myers (Kassie), Dakota Cohoon (August), Darrell Lee Cohoon Jr. "DJ" all of Evansville; 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and one brother, Steven Cohoon (Betty) of New Harmony.
Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, August 26, at Koehler Funeral Home, Perigo Chapel, 7022 Heim Road, Chandler. The service will be officiated by Robert Fuchs with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler. Friends may call Wednesday 3 until 8 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. until service time at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel
Memorials in memory of Darrell may be made to the family for funeral expenses.

jeeze, all those years he fought those bushes to get them just right to keep in the privacy, but to always welcome everyone to their home.Weather it was to catch a tune, say,"hi" durring the festival, or just kids runnin thru the yard to terrorize one of the boys!either way, the memories in our childhood still remain. Thank you, so much, darrell. you will be remembered and missed!to julie and family, we are very sorry for your loss.thanx for the memories and sharing him with the world.

I am so sorry for your Loss. Darrell was always such a sweetheart! He and Terri used to keep me when Mom and Patsy went out! He used to sit me on his lap and teach me guitar chords!
I am sorry I didn't know in time to come by. Darrell was ALWAYS one of the GOOD Guys!
Just remember kids, he will always be with you in your heart! And watching over each of you to protect you!

Julie, David, Eric, Dakota, DJ, and
Barry and Diane Smith family - I know you were a tight knit family and it was apparent by the actions you showed toward each other over the past several years. I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Darrell. He was a wonderful person..always making people laugh. Julie, & kids, You are in my thought and prayers. I'm sure he is a better place with no pain or suffering, looking down on you everyday.

I knew Darrell when he worked at the Boonville Standard back in the 70's. I worked there also and we talked some because my grandmother was a Cohoon. She was Ada Greer. I don't remember how it all went but I think we were distantly related.
I'm sorry for your loss and will remember Darrell and his family in my prayers.
