Betty Lois (Rieber) Mackey, age 89, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the West River Health Campus.
Mrs. Mackey was a homemaker and a member of the Owls and Riverbend Association and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Betty enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
Surviving Betty are two sons and their wives, Fred and Pauline Mackey and Don and Tammy Mackey, both of Evansville; a sister, Evelyn Grimm of Evansville and grandchildren, Debbie (Chris) Odam, Fred Mackey, Jr., Julie (John) Jarvis, Kevin (Molly) Mackey, Christopher Mackey, Joe Mackey and Amanda Mackey and eight great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Joseph Mackey in 1992.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Gene Backes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

So very sorry for the loss of your Mother . She was a very sweet Lady .We will miss seeing her when we go to visit my Mama . Betty was her room mate at West River . Mary ( Grandma ) Hudson . Deeply saddened to hear of Mrs. Mackey's passing. I remember many fun times with her and Aunt Jeanne at card parties, etc. She was a lovely lady and always had a ready smile and a hearty laugh. She will be missed.

I am sorry to hear about Betty's passing. She was my favorite aunt even though I had not kept in touch like I wanted. My memories have stayed with me and brought me lots of joy. I wish I could be there to pay my respects and say goodbye. Freddie & Donnie my prayers and love are with you and your families. She was very devoted to all of you.
