Michael Richard McLear

Evansville, Ind.

Michael Richard McLear, 57, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Michael was born in Richmond, Indiana on March 30, 1959 to Robert E. and Maxine (Scotece) McLear. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Michael was Executive Vice President at Core Minerals Operating Company, enjoyed serving as a Chapter Advisor and Mentor for Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at his alma mater, and was an Eagle Scout. Michael attended First United Methodist Church in Vincennes with his family. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Indianapolis Colts. Michael loved his family dearly and was always supportive of his daughters' passions and adventures. He will be deeply missed.

Michael is survived by his wife of 28 years, Judy (Lobacz) McLear; his daughters, Chelsea Elizabeth and Sarah Elizabeth McLear; father, Robert E. McLear (Joyce); sisters, Sally Baumer (Jim) and Kathy Gray (Chip); brother, Robert E. McLear III (Michelle); cousin, Susan Kucharski (David); mother-in-law, Miss Ellie Lobacz; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 411 N. 4th St., Vincennes, IN, 47591, with Pastor Bob Ostemeier officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM (EST) on Friday, September 9, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Vincennes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at FeedingAmerica.org or to the Lambda Chi Alpha ZAXellence Scholarship Fund, c/o Rose-Hulman Development Office, 5500 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN, 47803 in Michael's name.
