James Kochik Obituary

KOCHIK James J. Kochik, age 84, of Fairfield, died on Thursday, December 11, 2003, at the Jewish Home for the Elderly, Fairfield, following a long illness. Born in Bridgeport on November 6, 1919, he was the son of the late Stephen and Goldie Kochik. Mr. Kochik was a lifelong resident of Fairfield and worked as a fender and body mechanic for Scap Dodge of Fairfield for 40 years, until his retirement in 1991. He was a devout communicant of Holy Family Church, Fairfield. Mr. Kochik is survived by a sister, Erma Milo and her husband, Ernest, of Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Jachimski. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at 8:45 a.m., from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike (Rte. 111), Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 16, 2003, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral director.
