Joseph Amaro Obituary

AMARO Joseph Amaro, age 77, of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital, Norwood, Mass. He was the beloved husband of Betty (Medley) Amaro. Mr. Amaro was born August 9, 1929 in Newark, N.J., son of Angelina (Bono) Amaro Grasso of Trumbull and the late John Amaro. Joseph was a retired supervisor form Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford. He was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd and also belonged to the Men-s Club there. Mr. Amaro was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War. He also enjoyed fishing. Besides his wife and mother, Joseph leaves his loving family including a daughter, Tina Hagerty and her husband, Mike, of Attleboro, Mass.; two brothers, Jack Amaro of Monroe, N.C. and Robert Amaro of Beacon Falls; a sister, Jospehine Grasso of Trumbull; a granddaughter, Mia Hagerty of Attleboro, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
