Molly Patton Obituary
Molly Murphy Patton, age 34, beloved wife of Scott, loving mother to Sydney and Henry, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully in Yale New Haven Hospital on February 2, 2015. In addition to her devoted husband of 9 years and children, Molly's memory will be embraced by her father, Patrick Murphy, Sr. of Michigan; one brother, Patrick Murphy, Jr. and his wife, Sharleen of CA; Scott's parents, Alan and Francine Patton of NY; one brother-in-law, Michael Patton, and his wife Lauren of NY; one nephew and soon to be niece; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; many dear friends. Molly was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Krum Murphy. Raised in Gull Lake, Michigan, Molly graduated from high school in 1998, and received her BA degree from the University of Michigan in 2002. She met Scott, the love of her life while finishing college, and lived in New York City for six years before settling in Fairfield in 2008. A truly talented Interior Designer, Molly worked for 5 years in the Marketing Department of Health Magazine before raising her cherished children. Molly enjoyed the simplicities of a New England life style, preferring to have the sun and fun of a day at the beach with family and friends over a more complicated outing. She loved being a mother, and made Scott, Sydney, and Henry her life's focus. Molly had a warm, caring personality. Throughout her life, she gave unconditionally to family, friends, and those whom she thought were in need. And so it is with profound gratitude that Scott and Molly's family wish to thank many individuals. Their numerous acts of kindness, large or small, were a tremendous help to the Patton family over the past several months. Friends may greet her family on Wednesday (Today) from 9:30-11:30 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. A service to celebrate Molly's life, officiated by the Reverend David Spollett, will immediately follow at 11:30 AM. All other services will be private. Molly was a gift. I am heartbroken to learn of her passing. It was my pleasure to work with her at Time, Inc. and have the joy of seeing her get engaged, plan her wedding, pregnant with Sydney and then be able to still be a part of her life after she left Health. Molly shared her teen years with my daughter, Laura (Palmatier) Corstange. She was the "light" to all of her friends. She gave with her heart and soul, and loved with every inch of her heart. God granted us a beautiful gift in sharing Molly, and now she goes HOME with her Mom!
