Andrew Magyar Obituary

MAGYAR Andrew A. Magyar, age 63 of Milford, beloved husband of Catherine Konstance Magyar, died on Saturday, October 3, 2009. Mr. Magyar was born in Bridgeport on April 29, 1946 to the late Andrew, Jr. and Ruth Young Magyar and was a lifelong Milford resident. He was retired from the CT Light & Power Co. where he was employed for 35 years. Mr. Magyar was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School, Class of 1964 and a member of the Milford Senior Center. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Cathy, include three daughters, Heather Magyar and Carolyn Magyar, both of Milford, and Melissa Wilkins and her husband, Ben of Ansonia; two sisters, Shirley Bercian of Stratford and Christine Lash (Scott) of Florida; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Wilkins; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A funeral service will take place at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Milford Animal Shelter, 664 E. Broadway, Milford, CT 06460 in Mr. Magyar's memory.
