Edward Stofko Obituary

STOFKO Edward J. Stofko age 91, of Milford, the beloved husband of the late Helen Marcinko Stofko passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Milford Hospital. Edward was born on December 16, 1916 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline Starinec Stofko. He was a United States World War II Army veteran and a member of the VFW and DAV. He was employed in the general maintenance department at Wonder Bread for many years. Mr. Stofko is survived by two sons, James T. Stofko of Milford, John P. Stofko and his wife, Christy; one daughter, Catherine Mieczkowski and her husband, Stephen of Stratford; four grandchildren, Amanda Stofko, Stephen Mieczkowski, Dr. Brian Mieczkowski, Leah Stofko; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Lorali Mieczkowski; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by several brothers and sisters. We will always remember his wisdom, kindness, generosity and love of family and love of walking. Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 2, 2008 at 9 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary's Church 70 Gulf Street Milford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home 2220 Main Street Stratford on Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may contribute to: S.W.
