Nabil Dib Obituary

DIB Nabil Dib, age 55, of Trumbull, died on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Born in Latakia, Syria on March 9, 1956, he was an employee of Sikorsky Aircraft with over 30 years. He graduated from Warren Harding High School of Bridgeport in 1974 and attended Fairfield University. Nabil was an avid golfer, a member of the Tashua Knolls Men's Club and a passionate sports fan. He was a loving son of Salma Baik Dib of Trumbull and best friend to his brother Don Dib. In addition to his mother, survivors include a brother, Dr. Donald Dib and his wife Debbie of Trumbull, a niece, Jessica Dib, two aunts, Loraine Baik Zabaneh and her husband Raja of Trumbull and Mary Bal Baik of Bridgeport, as well as many loving cousins. He was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Baik and Deeb families. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. So very sorry for your loss. I remember Nabil from Barnum School - I was in class with Donald. He seemed to be a very kind, quite child. I can see he was successful in his life and at Sikorsky. God bless and be with your family. Our loss is heaven's gain.

I will always remember Nabil from my social studies class at Harding High School. It was the last period of the day and our teacher was monotone, so everyone had a bit of a challenge staying awake in the class, including Nabil. But unlike anyone else in the class, Nabil managed to ace every test with seemingly no effort at all. May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences.
