My condolences to Richie & the family on Ray's passing. I got to know Hoss a little better on Facebook since he was a bit older at Bassick. We also shared our love of football in a fantasy league where he was the commisioner. He always had his way with words (and pics). My brother Billy sends his prayers ... he will miss Ray popping in at his shop to BS.

My condolences to the Courtright Family. As adolescents, "Hoss" was always a man among boys with a gigantic heart and a perpetually optimistic outlook. I didn't realize until recently what a profound impact he had on me. He's smiling down on us now and cracking the jokes we all appreciated. Rest in peace brother.

Ray was one of my dearest friends, and I simply cannot imagine my days without him. He carried me through my darkest days and always was the very first to celebrate my joys and successes. He never missed a birthday, and was always so kind to my children, although they never had the fortune to meet.

I will miss you Hoss. We didn't see each other lately but when I talked to my children about my High School days there really isn't a story that didn't include you. You made Bassick the best High School to be in back then. My Condolences to the Courtrigh family. :(

My deepest condolences to the entire Courtright family. Ray was a childhood friend, from our St. Augustine days, and our paths continued to cross at various times during our adult lives. He truly was a gentle and caring soul. I am so glad that we reconnected through Facebook, but sad at its abrupt ending. His daily comic relief will be sadly missed by many.

Raymond was my closest friend and he will be missed beyond description. Raymond was a kind and gentle soul who was as generous and selfless as can be. He always worried about his family and friends' welfare before his own. He was smart, witty, snarky as can be, and funny beyond belief. If anyone could be described as "bigger than life it was Ray.
