Richard Mathews Obituary

MATHEWS Richard Michael Mathews, 74, of Lyndhurst passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 Augusta Health. He was born September 6, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Paul and Helen Mathews. Mr. Mathews was a lifetime member of Wilson Volunteer Fire Co. He retired from Bridgeport Fire Dept, Engine Co. 3 in 1983 as a Lieutenant before moving to Virginia to enjoy his retirement. He was also a member of the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters. A service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 12, 2010 in the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Jon Lovelady officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with military honors by the Stuarts Draft V.F.W. Post #9339. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilson Fire Company, P. O. 157, Lyndhurst, VA 22952. Family and friends may view the obituary and sign the guest register on line at www.reynoldshamrickfuneralhomes.com.
