John Monoski Obituary

MONOSKI John Monoski, age 81 of Stratford, the beloved husband of Dorothy Somick Monoski, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2010 in Bridgeport Hospital with his devoted family by his side. John was born in Granville, N.Y. on April 10, 1929 and was the son of the late Michael and Anna Dubyak Minoski. He was a United States Army Korean War veteran and a long time baker at the Nancy Lynn and France's Bakeries. John was also a member of the Jednota Branch # 19. In addition to his beloved wife, Dorothy of fifty-eight years; he is also survived by one son, John C. Monoski of Stratford; one daughter, Deborah Chmielewski of Stratford; two grandchildren, Sara and Dana Chmielewski; sister-in-law, Joan Somick of Stratford; and his special cat, Smudge. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Paul Minoski. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 8:00 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street Stratford, and at 9 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Avenue, Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Dottie,Debbie, John and family: My heartfelt sympathy are with you today and always. John was one of a kind who always made me laugh. He is no longer suffering, he is now at rest. May God give you all strength and courage to care on as John would want you to. He will always be your guardian angel. Stay strong, God Bless, I too feel your pain.
