Frank A. Pacific, age 93, longtime resident of Trumbull and beloved husband of the late Eleanor M. Russell Pacific, passed away at home with his devoted son Keith by his bed side on August 24, 2012. Born in Bridgeport, on February 26, 1919, the son of the late Pasquale Pacifico and Concetta DiBiaggio Pacifico of Mondragone, Italia. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In Febuary of 1942 he served under Patton with the 45th Field Hospital, obtained rank of CPL and was a Chaplains Assistant, Medic and Bugler. Upon his discharge he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He composed and arranged the 3rd Regimental March. He was one of the most outstanding instrumentalists of his time playing in the Big Band Era, he was accredited for writing and arranging the Frankie and Charlie Polka and many other songs for the Johnny Wojnarowski Band. He traveled the country and world with his trumpet, playing in many orchestras and night clubs. He auditioned for the Ed Sullivan and Johnny Carson Shows, past the auditions, but declined to marry Eleanor. He was a member of the Italian Marching Band, and the 55 piece orchestra for G.E. He Graduated from Southern Connecticut State University and Fairfield University, received a B.S. and Master's Degree in Science, taught at Trumbull High School- German- Science-Music-Electronics and spoke multiple languages. He was also a member of the VFW Post 145 and Teachers Association as well as a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena, Trumbull. Survivors include a son, Keith M. Pacific of Trumbull, and a daughter, Pamela Foran and her husband Bob of Newtown, two grandchildren, Kaelin and Marissa Vecsey also of Newtown, and many nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Anna Pacificio and Rose Pacifico Pisani Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
