Byron DeGroff Obituary
Byron DeGroff,of Stratford, passed away on March 13th 2013 in Bpt.Hospital.He was born in Bpt,on Aug 13 1935.His lifetime achievement was to become a pilot.He spent nearly all of his adult life doing exactly that,He spent many years as a corporate pilot,and as a Flight Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration.He will be very much missed by many,including his three sons,Douglas DeGroff of Milford Ct..John DeGroff of Shelton Ct.and James DeGroff of Crewe Va.and his wife Gail Liddell-DeGroff of Stratford Ct.Also his grandchildren Danielle and Karl DeGroff.A memorial get-together is planned at the Windsock Restaurant and Corsair Lounge on June 17th 2013.Persons interested in attending can contact Doug DeGroff at [email protected] Bless my Dad and may he rest in peace....Love You Dad!

HE WAS A LOCAL AVIATION LEGEND.

I WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH BYRON IN HIS FLYING CAREER, BUT WAS VERY ACTIVE DURING HIS WATER SKIING DAYS AT SUN AND SURF IN DERBY ON THE HOUSATONIC.THOSE WERE THE DAYS. GOD BLESS YOU BYRON, IT'S BEEN MANY YEARS BUT I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU.

Byron was quite a guy, he excelled at everything he did. Pilot, ping pong, or partridge hunting. My condolences to all his family.
