He brought me into the world back in 1962 at St. Vincents. My mother thought he was the best doctor ever. RIP and take care of my mother up in heaven.

Dad was easily the strongest influence on me my whole life. I wish I had taken just half of the good advice he would give me. I like to remember him as a young man. He was very strong, he hit two home runs as a kid off Spec Shea, who eventually pitched for the New York Yankees. Dad was one of a kind, and I'll never forget him.

My deepest sympathies to everyone in Dr Burke's family. He was my doctor for many years. He delivered my two children. He was a wonderful and compassionate man and doctor. When I delivered my first child, the nurse in the delivery room told me Dr Burke was her favorite doctor. He was my favorite doctor too. Years after he retired I called him regarding a diagnosis I received from another docter. He did not have to do it but he called me back and gave me a full explanation of what the diagnosis meant. We spoke for over 1 hour on the telephone about it. He always was like that and took the time to explain things to his patients. He was truly a great doctor and I will miss him.

Sincerely,
MaryAnn (Shannon) Salvatore

Dr. Burke's daughter Beatrice is one of my best friends. I know that Beatrice is as remarkable as she is because of how she was raised and the example both Dr. Burke and Mrs. Burke gave her. I always admired Dr. and Mrs. Burke as they were always kind, solid and good people. Beatrice was very lucky (as were all seven kids) to have had such a wonderful father and mother. Mrs. Burke and all the kids are in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to the entire Burke family. I used to hear about the accomplishments of any or all of you during my visits. Dr. Burke delivered my daughter at night in December, 1976 during a snow storm. She was breech, I had placenta previa and post-partum hemorrhage. I always thanked him for saving our lives. The next day we had our usual hand holding session and he said "my dear, if I never have another delivery like yours I will be a happy man". I was in good hands then and know he is in good hands now enjoying friendship again with his right hand Ginny.

I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Burke's passing. He delivered myself (37 years ago) and my sister (26 years ago) as well. He was an amazing OB! He was a caring, gentle, and kind. My parents had suffered the loss of 6 boys in total just prior to my sister. Through all the loss he continued to "hold my mom's hand". RIP Dr. Burke, heaven is getting one of the best there is <3

So very sorry he was a wonderful doctor and gave me a wonderful daughter... back when it was one doctor who was always "in" even the middle of the night.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Burke's passing. He delivered two of my three children, and the only reason he didn't deliver the third one is that he had retired from delivering babies. He was the best OB ever! What a gentle, kind, funny man. I remember when we used to just sit and chat in his office. Our chats lasted longer than the actual check ups. He never, ever, ever rushed a patient out. Love you forever Dr. B. Rest in peace
