George Libretti, age 76, beloved husband of Philomena Mennillo Libretti of Beacon Falls, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Mary Hospital in Waterbury. Born in Fano, Italy on July 22, 1939, he was a son of the late Nello and Ida Ghiandoni Libretti. Mr. Libretti came to the United States in 1952. He began his career as a tool setter at International Harvester and then worked over 20 years at Bassick Co. of Bridgeport before his retirement in 2006, from Kerite of Seymour. George was very proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed Italian music, movies and feasts. In addition to his wife Phyllis of 52 years, survivors include his three loving children, Michele Rosko and her husband Robert of Oxford, George A. Libretti of Beacon Falls and Denise Plavcan and her husband John of Seymour, brothers, Juliano Libretti and his wife Barbara of Milford and Robert Libretti of Seymour, sisters, Julie Zint of Monroe and Carla DiMaggio and her husband James of Palm Coast, FL and three cherished grandchildren, Audrey Plavcan and Robert and Mary Rosko as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
