Delia Leaton Obituary

Delia Rodriguez Leaton, 84, of Lumberton, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Carlsbad Medical Center. Cremation will take place and a Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Elder Michael Donofrio officiating. Services have been entrusted to West Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at westfuneralhomellc.com Delia Rodriguez Leaton was born to Julio Carrasco and Alejandra (Chacon) Rodriguez on January 15, 1932 in Carlsbad, NM. Eduardo "Lalo" and Delia (Rodriguez) Leaton, Sr., were married on July 10, 1955 in Carlsbad, NM where she lived until moving to Alabama in 2007 and later to Lumberton, Mississippi. Delia was a full time mother and homemaker who loved to make jewelry. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses at the age of 15 in New York, NY, and remained a member of the congregation throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband; children: Adrian Leaton, Evangelina Leaton-Dornbusch and Roland Leaton; grandson Brandon Leaton; siblings: Luis, Bobby, Hortencia and Helen Rodriguez and Eloisa Madrid. Delia is survived by her children: Eduardo Leaton, Jr., and Ellis Leaton of Carlsbad, NM, Mike Leaton of Las Cruces, NM and Priscilla Brown of Lumberton, MS; brother Ruben Rodriguez of Elk Grove, CA; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
