LINDA AVES Obituary

Linda Kay Aves, 62, of Creston, Ill., passed away May 8, 2011, surrounded by her family at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, Ill. She was born June 19, 1948, in Sycamore, to Arthur William Lawrence and Katherine King Lawrence.
She graduated from Elisabeth High School in 1966 and Rockford Cosmetology School in 1967. Linda married Norman Ross Aves Nov. 20, 1976, in Kirkland. She did hair for a short stint, then worked at Brodies in DeKalb and then worked for General Electric in DeKalb for more than 25 years. She loved going places, but was unable to get around these last few years, now she is soaring. She cherished her shopping excursions with her great niece Savannah. The next best thing was going to the casinos, trying the good food and playing the slots. She touched so many people in her short life, and will live on through each and every one in her family.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Ross Aves of Creston; daughter, Rossi K. Aves of Creston; stepson, Richard Aves of Rockford, foster mother, Anelle Rury of Washington; three sisters, Donna Blanco of DeKalb, Alice Vince Perez of DeKalb and Sandra Lawrence of DeKalb; one brother-in-law, Albert "Sonny" Aves of Kirkland, five nieces, Jonie Johnson, Cathi Blanco, Dawn Aves, Melissa Blanco and Kami Lazaro; seven nephews, Tony Blanco, Brett Campuzano, Craig Campuzano, Greg Aves, Todd Perez, Jonathan Blanco and Steven Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur William Lawrence and Katherine King Lawrence; fosterfather, Val Rury; sister, Rita Campuzano; brother, Arthur Lawrence Jr.; two brother-in-laws, Antonio Blanco and Ronald Aves; one sister-in-law, Edith May Denby; and great nephew, Jaden Aves.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 20, at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave., Sycamore IL. Visitation from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Pastor Bill Landis to officiate. Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 815-562-6872, assisted the family with arrangements.

Linda was a vital part of our family for over 7 years. She and her sister Donna were big sisters to us and we loved them so much.

It's been a long time since I have seen Linda. She was my foster sister for 7 or 8 years when I was in elementary school. My mother kept in touch with her and her sister Donna all these years and has many fond memories of them. I know they helped take care of all of us kids (6) and were a major part of our family during the time they lived with us. My prayers are with your family during this time. God bless you. Kim Hunter
