PATRICIA SCOTT Obituary

Patricia Joan Scott, 73, returned to her Savior on Oct. 25, 2011, at her residence in Sunshine Country Club Estates in Harlingen, Texas.
She was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Chicago, to William C. and Dorothy Reetz Harlan.
Pat was a graduate of Crystal Lake High School, Crystal Lake, and attended Western Illinois University where she met her husband of 54 years, Jack Scott. They raised three daughters in DeKalb, where she was involved with the DeKalb County Home Extension and The First United Methodist Church Women's Society. She worked for 21 years at Northern Illinois University as a secretary for various department heads. After her retirement, she enjoyed many years of travel and residence in Harlingen with her husband. During that time she enjoyed quilting, crafting and became quite an accomplished jewelry maker and designer. She was a member of the Wesley First United Methodist Church in Harlingen. Most of all, Pat will be remembered for her positive attitude, her love of family and friends and her beautiful smile. She fought the good fight, finished her course and kept the faith.
She is survived by her husband, Jack V. Scott; brothers, Michael and Gary Harlan; and daughters, Pamela J. (Jerry) Rogers and children, Heather, Matt and Karlee of DeKalb, Susan J. (Don) Lindberg and children, Brady and Ali of San Antonio, and Karen L. (Jonathan) Adair and daughter, Jenna of Broken Arrow, Okla. She also was blessed with six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Todd Shenkenberg and staff for their kindness and help during the past two-and-a-half years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Sunshine Country Club Estates in Harlingen.

We never met Mrs. Scott, however if the saying that goes something like the "good apple never falls far from the tree" then Mrs. Scott must have been a very special person - because her daughter Sue Lindberg certainly is! Kris & Cindy Hilsberg
