Robert Hudson "Bob" Pyeatt
March 5, 1928 - July 1, 2011
Robert Hudson "Bob" Pyeatt, 83, of Aztec, passed away early Friday, July 1, 2011, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born March 5, 1928, in Clyde, Texas, the son of Russell Mason and Zadie Eads Pyeatt.
Bob and Grace Stevenson were high school sweethearts, marrying June 26, 1948. Bob and Grace recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
In 1952, Bob and Grace moved to Farmington, where he worked for El Paso Natural Gas for 37 years. In 1983, Bob retired as a field superintendent.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Grace; two sons, Russ and Sam (Lisa); six grandchildren, Derrick Pyeatt, Katie Pyeatt, Alyssa (Jordan) Webb, Laura (Sam) Sowards, Jake Pyeatt, Josh Pyeatt; one great-grandchild, Ava Pyeatt; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Pyeatt of Clyde, Texas.
Bob requested that there be no funeral services. He was a very private man and did not want the "slow marching and sad songs." His ashes will be spread at the family farm near Abilene, Texas. Those who wish to send condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bill Barkman. Bill was always there when the need was the greatest.

My "cousin' Bob was the kindest man I think I ever knew. He was a great friend to me. I will miss him so much as I know his family will too. What a wonderful blessing to have known him and share memories of his graciousness. May you be comforted in the days to come. He will be missed so much

My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Pyeatt as patrons of the old full service Conoco station that predated the Sundial on main Street Aztec back when I was in high school. I don't think I ever forgot any of our customers though many years have passed.
