Ellis Hinton Obituary
Belvidere resident
Ellis Hinton (Tunk), 80, 118 Joppa Road, Belvidere, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 12 noon at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church in Hobbsville with the Rev. William Wiggins, Pastor, and the Rev. Ellis Hinton Jr. , eulogist. Burial will follow in the Hinton family cemetery in Belvidere. Viewing will take place today from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Stallings Funeral Chapel, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hinton was the son of the late Charlie Washington and the late Emma Cooper Hinton. Survivors include his wife, Essie L. Hinton, of the home; three daughters, Pauline Holley and husband, Leon, and Shirley Hinton, both of Elizabeth City, and Lillia Sessoms and husband, Andre, of Belvidere; two sons, Rev. Ellis Hinton Jr. and wife, Vivian, and Christopher Hinton, both of Belvidere; two brothers, James Hinton and Alonzia Hinton and wife, Rachel, both of Belvidere; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
